A work in progress showing by Project YZ resident artist Chika Shimizu
Chika Shimizu's Works in Progress showcases the ongoing development of her animated short film, featuring selected animated scenes, renderings, storyboards, and character installations.
Two young siblings, Haru and Aki, are suddenly trapped in their home as an eerie broadcast delivers a grim warning: do not step outside—your life depends on it. Panic sets in as the truth emerges from a surprising messenger—their beloved teddy bear begins to speak: the flying fish monsters have escaped from the Sea of Fear. The dam that once held them back has broken, and the creatures are flooding into the real world. To stop the chaos, Haru and Aki must journey into a world of imagination and find a way to rebuild the dam before it’s too late.
